Default Can someone explain this to me?

I recently bought an 03 350Z. I know its the base model. Everyone I know that see the car freaks out because they say it has the optional wide body rear. I can't figure out what they are talking about. I can't tell the difference from mine and others. Can anyone help me out?

Dud your car is just as wide as any model. SAME EXACT body style. They are talking about the mud flaps. go to a dealership at night and borrow a pair...lol

+1 we need some pics buddy. Let's see what the people you know see and we can make a determination as to if they are correct or not.

Yup, need pics. If it has had a widebody kit molded in, we'll be able to tell you. More than likely everyone you know that sees the car are idiots. There is no "optional" (as in factory or dealer option) widebody; only a few aftermarket body kit companies (Veilside, Top secret, Mastergrade) have widebody kits and I'd think you'd know if you had one on your car.

Thats what I thought. I think they are full of it. I have never heard of such thing and I could never tell the difference. I also don't have mud flaps. The Z has these side skirts that I would like to know more about too. How do I put my pics on here?

The car deos have a tendency to look wider and more agressive without the splash gaurds.

Sides are Veliside v1; kinda look like replicas.

Definitely not widebody.

I agree, lack of splash guards makes the car look more aggressive.

Stock bodied, the lack of mudguards and size of lip of the wheels just emphasizes the fenders/width.. Optional widebody? i guess i missed that on the brochure

Its a stock body bro. The people that are saying its a wide body seem like they dont know **** about z's...lol, they arent offered in a wide body from nissan. But the rims and tires, along with those things at the rear of the skirt make it look wider

They may be mixing our car up with the Z3 roadster...it had different rear fenders depending upon the engine.

Tell them to get back in their Buicks and go home.
