I think the VG's on the mitsubishi are BS!

The job of a vortex generator is to energize the boundary layer of air at the lifting surface of a wing and energize it by way of creating vortices to reduce boundary seperation @ high angles of attack.

Unless there is some boundary layer seperation, which there is not, then the VG's are worthless. The Z has a negative angle of attack to increase downforce so we are looking for a solution to a problem that does not exist.

Even if there was a boundary layer seperation over the rear hatch.... the vg's would have to be positioned near the top of the windshield of the car. If they were beneficial in any way race cars would already have them.

Looks like shark teeth, Hmmm they would go nice in my front bumber grill area. Since the front looks like a sharks mouth.

Would it matter if they were gloss black (which my friend had made) or carbon fiber?

It's different. Maybe some full car shots at different distances would help me determine how I feel about them. They're all pretty close. As of right now they're just ok to me. I don't strongly feel any particular way about them either way. They're just ok. And it isn't functional since its directing air to the big wing we don't have. Unless you are in on the nismo v2 wing gb. There's an idea! Post it up in there and see if you could make em a package deal! I want 25% of all profits for the suggestion though.

I swear they are acctually kinda hard to notice. Many people do not even see that they were on there. I will post more full car shots later.

Anybody that couldn't see a spike strip laid across a z's roof must be blind or standing 100 yards away. Any car enthusiast that actually notices a few details could see that.

Awesome find! I just got done reading it and it is just amazing how people find out things like this. Which leads me to wonder, how much of an effect it would have on our cars since our trunk lines are more aerodynamic than an EVO

DO NOT TRY AND JUSTIFY YOUR RICER ACTIONS!

JP do what you want but most of the people hear will give it to you straight.

That's why the VG that my friend designed look exactly like the ones on teh EVO. He referenced the research in that article for the design.
