If you are seriously worried about getting a ticket with 5% tint. This is what you do!

Find from the service manual the power wires to the window motors or to the switch in the door. or just pull apart the door and figure out which one it is. either way!?

then cut the wire and run an in- line switch that u place under the dash or whereever you like, preferabbly hidden..

When a cop rolls by always roll down your windows. iF you ever get stopped, for speeding or maybe just cause he saw your windows.

Roll your windows Down, flip the switch and NO more roll back up!! if he ask you to roll up your windows cause he wants to check the tint. tell him that the motor went out a while back or pretend like it all the sudden stopped working???

I have a silver 03 Track with chrome tint over 2% limo, and as long as you are running radar and know when the cops are coming, they will never see it.

 

Yeah that will work great unless he realizes you're stupid scheme and impounds your vehicle for defective equipment violation. It would have to be a pretty stupid cop to buy that load of B.S. Give em some credit they aren't morons. If you're that worried about it just don't tint it illegally. If you do decide you want to break the law (like I did with my 5%) then just attempt to play dumb when he pulls you over and act like you believe it's within the law and if he doesn't buy it just suck it up and take the ticket.

Exactly, regardless, 5% tint, kill switch or not? either way you need to be responsible and assume the risk....the kill switch idea ive installed on my friends vehicles and he loves it. its always worked for him and well, so far that i know he hasnt gotten a ticket yet.. he plays dumb every time....

and well if the cop figures it out and you get busted! well then you get busted. pay the fine, deal with it ? whatever... either way. you know what your doing? Im just giving you an alternate idea that i know has worked before.....

okay well thanx alot it seems like 5 on the back and 15 on the front 2 sounds like the best decision, how do you guys get your cars inspected? or do you just not and run from the cops lol

 

I would go 20 on everything except for the front winshield...get 30% on that.

 

I have 5% all around, and 20% front windshield. Pics tomorrow.

I have 5% tint all around on my Z. It looks amazing. Just be very careful at driving at night.

 

well i live in north carolina too but NC requires yearly inspections so my car is registered in MD where you only get it inspected when there's a title change. plus, if you are titled out of state and get pulled over they can only give you a ticket for equipment and not a work order.

 

I have 5% however next friday im getting it redone at 20%, 5% looks ghetto to me now (IMO). 20-25% looks really clean and i would suggest you stick with that.

well im just going to get my buddy to do the inspection on the car, everything is legal, except for the soon to be 5%, its just better when somebody asks you what kinda tint you got, jus say i got 5, you dont wanna be the pansy that went with 15, might as well go all the way

 

anybody did it themselves????

 

my friend did it himself, he said it wasnt too hard but its hard to get the top and bottom of the window and there are alot of cracks, i dont know too much about doing it but thats just my two cents

sorry for off topic from thread....but 350z bra, if you tinted the windshield, and got those black covers for the tail lights and headlights and did the paint the door handle mod, i think your car would look even better...
