yea i plan on getting the grounding kit soon and what do u mean by polished? i used a paint for plastics first i primered then sprayed the red and then a clear coat

Mine goes to the body shop on Tuesday to ge the fender fixed. They are painting mine the same color. Great minds think alike.
What did you use to mask off the Battery and Brak Fluid letters?

Imagine this grounding kit on yours.

The polished thing is some kind of cover that makes the top of your engine shiny like the ingen.

I saw one on strictlyz.com No price was given - probably a lot.

yea the intake plenum i thought you meant to polish my covers lol it is 120 i believe im on a budget so i wont get it so soon i am definatley getting the grounding kit next

If you talked to StrictlyZ, I believe it's $480 for the polished plenum + $100+ for the core charges, which is refundable to you upon shipping your stock plenum back to them.

I can handle the manifold cover, but how did you block out the lettering on the Battery and Brake Fluid covers?

Well yea they were a pain i tryed everything what you do is this you just paint it all the color you want then after its dryed u get a really fine sharpie marker and u mark it in black it it will look good! what i did after i was done with the black marking is throw the clear coat on but u dont have to do this

I used regular masking tape on the manifold cover. The letters are silver only on the very top surface and I wanted to make them stand out so I took great effort to be sure to get the edge of the tape to the bottom edge of each raised letter. This way there will be a black space all the way around each letter. The best tools I came up with was a utility knife and some large toothpicks. The soft wood doesn’t scratch the surface of the manifold cover.

I thought about the Battery and Brake Fluid covers for quite a while and in the end thought the best route was to fill the letters with silicone caulk. I used white so I could tell where the edge was on the lettering and to be sure I didn't leave any behind prior to the paint job. Be sure to get one that works on plastic and won’t shrink. At this point each letter is filled to the top edge with caulk. After the paint is dry I will, first moisten with a damp cloth for a while and then dig out the caulk with toothpicks. If I need any touch up I will use a black Sharpie like you suggested.

i tried that it didnt work the paint starts to come off outside of the letters you will soon find out

Did you paint them yourself?
Are you saying it chipped or peeled away from the edges of the lettering? Dang it.

I am having them professionally done and they will bake the paint on and then clear coat them.
I hate to think I spent a couple of hours doing somthing that won't work.
