That looks really neat indeed.

BTW, what paint are you guys using? Surely the good old rattle can stuff can't stand engine bay temps and the high-temp versions I've seen come in only 1 or 2 colors. I am planning on giving this project a shot this spring, but I don't believe paintscratch.com sells high-temp OEM-matched paint.

+1..I'm interested in doing this myself and wanted to know the prepping process you guys use. Im sure the painting is self explanatory but just what all is involved in the prep is what I'm not sure of.

according to z-u-later he used a regular rattle can spray paint with a plastic adheasion helper and his seems to be holding up fine....Maybe he can chime in about it and give an update but I'm really wanting to try the blue and silver two-tone style. If things dont go to plan I'll just paint the bit*h all blue.

i used engine enamel on my covers just in case and as for the engine cover im probably just gonna prep it with the paint adhesor like i did for the two back covers...ill get more pics up when the last cover is done too...oh also would it be smart to paint the tube on a popcharger or should i just leave that?

well they didnt have any engine enamel around the local stores I went to that would have matched so I got some exterior stuff which should hold up ok...And if not I'll only have spent around $20...so not a traumatic loss if things dont go as planned.

I have no problems so far with the paint on the two back covers and the three fluid covers. I have not had any spare time yet to paint the engine cover. And I do not anticipate any problems with the paint on these covers since they really do not build up any heat to really mess up the paint. Just make sure you either prime them first or use the paint adhesor (highly recommended for painting on plastic items) to make it work.
