There's a DIY write-up on how to install that very button in our cars including cost, time spent, how it works, etc: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....k+start+button . Please use the search function next time.

For those that don't get the point or don't like it, just don't do it. Besides, I'm sure you wouldn't b!tch about having to go through the exact same startup procedure if you had Ferarri Enzo.
It's just a cool mod that looks nice, gives a little extra touch to the interior, makes your friends Ooo and Ahhh, and puts a smile on your face every time you start the car.
I prefer this setup greatly over newer cars like the Vette and Lexus that have a transmitter fob you keep in your pocket, b/c on those cars you have to hit the button twice to start the car and it's really just a tap to activate the system (you tap the button once to turn on, tap again to start and a second later the car actually starts... very disconnected feeling); the button is not directly cranking the starter, like the S2K setup.

1. Add two more switches, one to connect power to the accessories and a second to connect power to the "ON" position of the ignition cylinder. You'd also have to have one of the keys permanently connected via a reader (like remote start systems have) wired into the ignition harness so that the car will pick up the chip and disable the starter kill. This would allow you to flip two switches and hit the button to start the car, as it would allow ANYONE who got into the car to do. Absolutley no security. This is basically how race cars are set up, though.
2. install a system similar to what Lexus uses that reads a transmitting fob you keep in your pocket. I don't know if they offer systems like this aftermarket. These systems also have the drawbacks I stated earlier... you have to hit the button more than once to get the car started and it feels very disconnected. You also have to hit the button to shut the car off.
A third option is obviously a remote start system, but that's really a different setup than what is being discussed here, also sacrifices some security and is dangerous to install on a manual transmission car.
