Default My silverstone w/tint pics

Just had my silverstone 350 tinted this afternoon. I live in Texas - laws allow only 35% on the side windows but no limits on back. I still wanted to see the Z strut brace logo through the rear window so I didn't go full bore on the rear - had the installer use 20%.

Tint that was used - metallic charcoal.

I also had a strip installed on the front window (made sure installer didn't put tint over the infared "dots" for the homelink mirror). Might not keep this small part of the tint job but I figured I'd try it for a week or so.

Overall the tint job came out well. Anyone in the Houston area that would like the installer's info, PM me and I'll send it back to you.

Here is a pic of the rear tint job. I know - looks pretty dark but it was late afternoon. Trust me when I say you can see in the back no problem but it is still noticeably darker than pre-tint window.

Here is a pic of the left tint piece (a similar piece is on the right side of the mirror) I had put on the windshield. The homelink mirror is on the right of the picture.

P.S. Notice the poster on the wall

Just cuz I had it...here is a picture of the front although it doesn't really show the tint job much.

Thanks for the nice comments.

2003z - I work at Houston Center (Enroute ATC).

Ok...preference in the skies for 350Z owners...hehe. By the way, there are three other 350s where I work - another silverstone (touring), an SB touring, and a Brickyard touring. The SB owner put chrome wheels on his car - different look but seems to work well with his color car.

re: atc
How do you decide which plane has to take vectors for conflicting traffic. It seems like its always me that has to turn fifteen right, never the other guy!

MugenRD1: The install was done by one guy who came over to my house and brought a heat gun, etc. He took his time and I watched him do the entire install. Very professional and efficient. I even helped him out a bit (made me feel like I really was getting to help with the install although I know I couldn't have come close to the nice job he did).

2003z: Air Traffic Procedures manual (7110.65) says first come, first served but also states in other places that safety is the priority. So to answer your question - if you are slower and we need to get you in trail with the "big boys", you usually get the turn. Sorry but much safer for everyone that way.

but I am one of the big boys!

Anyway, the other day going into tulsa, me in a 737-800, about 120 miles out, center slowed us to 270 to follow a citation!, when we got to approach, they asked why were going so slow!

Anyway, stuff happens.

2003z...oops sorry.

Sometimes we can just get the air carriers in front of the "slowtations". We try to do what we call a "blow by" (fast ones speed past the slow ones, either on top or below), but this only works if started far enough away from the arrival airport.

Maybe I'll talk to you in the skies sometime.

Have fun with your Z.
