Default Carbon Fiber Hood on Silver Stone?

Hi everyone. It's been a long while since I've been on this site. I think the last time I was on was even before I got my 350z. Well now, I've had it for about nine months, but already there has been a problem. I was driving down the freeway on Monday morning at about 6:40 to get to my AP calc class - yes I'm a nerd in high school haha - but some huge object came out of no where and hit my hood and a bit of white liquids flew onto my windshield. It was dark still and I was tired because it was so early so I didn't really recognize what the object was. I also wasn't wearing my glasses...I'm near sighted. When I finally got to school and got my books out from the passenger side, I noticed two huge dents on the hood. The dents are pretty deep and noticeable. Basically I had a pretty ****ty day. My friend told me that it would probably cost about 250 to pop each dent...so about 500 total. He suggested that I might as well buy a carbon hood for it if I pay a bit more. I thought about it and was wondering how a carbon hood, unpainted, would look on my car. So the whole point of this post is to ask you fellow forum members if you have any pictures of carbon hoods on silverstone 350zs. I already looked for some but only found a few. I'd appreciate it alot if you could post some pics up. Thanks!

I would suggest taking it to a dent shop and seeing what they say. I am pretty sure your friend is an idiot and doesn't know **** about the prices a good dent shop will charge if they can fix it. I have had most of my dents removed from my other car for about $50.00 each and you cannot even tell there was a dent there before.

So far I have been lucky with no dents on the Z (knock on your friend head)

That object was a person, and the white liquid was bone matter from his shattered legs. Wear your glasses.

Dent removal should be nowhere near that expensive. I paid that much for a whole car that had probably 30 dents, some bad, some not so bad.

That must have been one hell of a nut shot...

Seriouslly though, if the dent is creased, it may be a little harder that just popping it out. Do you have pics?

those dents can be fixed, the problem is getting the hood repainted and still match. And from what i hear, its hard to blend silver

****ty, they can probably be popped out but it looks like some scratches too. If you decide on a CF hood I have a bunch of Seibon hoods in stock.

LMAO Well, that'll teach him not to play in the middle of a freeway. And this guy might get a cf hood out of the deal. Instant karma.

As long as the dents are not under the structural part of the hood, they can be taken out by a dent repair place. If not, then you can have a body shop fill them and respray the hood.

from seeing the pictures, how much do you think it will cost me to fix the dents and repaint? Thinking about the carbon since repainting it might not match. Ill decide after taking it to the dent shop then. Any more pictures?
