It's most likely his state law; in Jersey you're required to have two visible plates, both front and rear. Sucks imo...

Err, nvm, he's in Cali. I have no idea then...

Where on the side are you talking about? Side but still on the grill or side as in on the bumper by the front reflector like the Evos?

yeah that plate law is bull **** i got one for my eclipse and had to get it corrected no big deal just 10 bucks but after i got it i looked up the law theres a a and b of the law and one of em state that if you are given to plates one has to be in fron and one in rear if you are givin one plate then it has to be in rear when i got my z i only got 1 so its in rear if you get pulled over just say you only got one plate when you got the car theres no wy for them to look up the dealer and see if the dealer gave you one or 2 plates

The Zee bracket ought to work. Basically you take a pair of stand-off posts to get the plate out from the grill and then two plates that will sandwitch and squeeze the grill to hold the whole thing in place. I have mine mounted in the center but that could be changed. I did mount mine lower that stock for ****z and giggles.

I've seen a couple Z's with plates on the side. With aftermarket front-ends, it looks ok, but on the stock bumper, it looks like the Z has a snaggle tooth.

Zip ties!!!!! Put some kind of molding tape (thick foam tape) on the back of the plate so it doesn't scratch your paint, then zip tie it through the holes. Take out the bumper reflectors and put a couple long zip ties together and it'll hold. That's what I'd probably try to do if I had to put a front plate on.

The Z-backet is no-go for side mounting. I tried it. The side grill panel is no big enough for side mounting. The side mounted plate is a smart idea for HPDE when a tow hook is required. Removing the Z-bracket is a pain in the butt.

Back when I had my OEM bumper I actually used some metal cutting scissors and cut my license plate to fit inside the grill area. I just used some black zip-ties to attach.

In HI you have to have it FIXED to the vehicle, and they dont consider the tape route a FIXED method.

Yeah I have that sitting on my floor in my spare bedroom (parts room). I got rid of it because A) the fron bumper brace was gone B) takes up too much FMIC realestate.

I'll sell it to you for $15 plus shipping if you realy want it.

EDIT: PN#105350 the 03-04 nissan model
