Default CF vs. FRP vs. Urethane

I'm looking at Veilside Side Under Wings and would like to hear opinions of the different materials that they are available in.

CF - Is it worth the expense if you're going to paint anyways? If so, why?

FRP & Urethane are the same price. What are the pros and cons of each.

CF is a waste if you're going to paint, and like FRP will be quite brittle and chip easily. Urethane is a no brainer imo!

i totall disagree with that statment.

CF it is significantly stronger than FRP due to the woven carbon strands, even if it is layed onto of FRP. urethane is nice if it is a lip or smaller piece, however for large bumpers, CF and even FRP is significantly lighter for full bumpers.

urethane all the way if you're going to paint it. its the same material as your bumper is. flexible and durable.

^^^^ I agree, I stay urethane to the death. But one day I picked up my front bumper with one arm, must say it is HEAVY .....

Urethane is forgiving, FRP and carbon fiber arent. Once u hit something they break, no bend, no scratch, break with sick cracks that make you cringe. If you can handle that then go FRP. CF/FRP is only Good above the waist on the Z if you plan on driving it.. just my 2 cents....

sorry, but I should've clarified, for underwings the CF will chip like a biatch, fact! Not really a strengh issue at all, but resilience to rock chips I meant.

I have had VS 1 urethane under wing lets for about 6 months now. I was very pleased with the finish and resistance of this material. Highly recommended! I drive my Z daily so these wing lets take some abuse but still manage to say in perfect shape with 0 damage besides your average pencil point sized dimples from rocks and such. I am confident to say that if they where any other kind of material the damage would be far greater.

NOT TRUE. OEM bumpers are considered TPO material. Essentially they are PP (polypropelene) which is VASTLY different from urethane. Urethane is not a desired material IMO. Urethane is thick and heavy. Think of it like thick Rubber. Not even close to OEM bumper material
