Default Help Help Help

i have an 06 and attempted to paint the headlights. was successful with everything and all went smoothly. let them dry, sealed them up real good and they look sweet. however went driving around tonight and came back to foggyness and condensation in my lights. not sure if its the weather here but its never done that. and it is foggy as hell here and muggy. what do i need to do. take them out and let them dry or sit with air over night...

HELP PLEASE...

By rights, all u can do is open them again---Sorry. Im switching over to a urethane Base sealant myself , although I have had fair luck with the silicon. SOMETIMES the moisture will burn out, run ur lights during the day. BUT ---u have a leak

Don't all headlights have a vent of some sort on the back to to prevent this. I always thought a completely sealed unit would fog up. I've had many lights out of cars and most have a small breather hole with vent hose attatched. Not sure about Nissans though.

The Zs have a vent ---Its rubber and 90 degrees and has a sponge material in the opening to keep water from splashing in.
But it can handle just so much as far as letting moisture excape. If too much water gets in the light there is almost an atmospheric condition. The water will condensate on the lens "rain" then find a low spot in the assy and continue with the cycle.

It CAN eventually be burned out, but there IS a leak so it will just happen again.

And ---although the Ballasts are sealed and potted --I have seen that water get in and wipe out the Ballast ----250.00 ? or something like that ---may be in the 300s

On the bright side.. you oughta be pretty good at it by the time you're done again.

Where are you in Jax? I live in Oceanway and work in Baymeadows.
