Removing "350z" lettering question

DO NOT USE WD40 ON YOUR PAINT
unless you want the silicone to go to the steal and leave some nice fish eyes for the painters.
Hair dryer and dentle floss is the best. And a new rubber valve stem in a drill works better than your finger for removing the rest. Dont worry it wont burn the paint take our time and do it lightly. I use this on all new cars and even fresh paint. Its also great for removing dealer stickers and stripes.

I am removing my 350z emblem and not replacing it with anything, so I want ot be as safe as possible not to scratch my paint. I would like to learn more about the 'rubber valve stem' method. Is it just that, buy a rubber valve stem and stick it on the end of my drill or what? I just want to be safe.
Thank!
