Default Removing "350z" lettering question

Anyone out there a master at this type of thing? I know they're just basically stickers but is there some sort of trick to it?

Last time I pulled one of these off I took ice cubes and got the glue really cold then just snapped them off. I'm wondering if that's not the best for the paint though.

So, any help would be appreciated.

Getting the emblems off isn't too bad at all...they're stuck on with strong double sided tape.

I got them off, by heating the emblems up with a hairdryer, until they were hot to the touch (if you use a heat gun, you must be uber careful not to overheat the area). Some members also pour hot water on them instead of using the hairdryer.

After warming up the emblems, the adhesive becomes tacky. Take some fishing line or dental floss, and work through the tape back and forth, trying to get it under the adhesive. You'll be surprised at how easily it goes through.

One your done, you can get rid of the residue with some Goo-Gone or mild adhesive remover. I just rubber my finger over the residue until it "rolled" off of the paint.

Good Luck!

+1.

Hairdryer + dental floss did the trick for me. Then I just kept using the hairdryer + my finger to get off the residual glue.

And just to throw this out there....the center Nissan emblem will leave 2 holes if you try to remove it. The 350Z is just glued there so it's not a problem.

I made an emblem remover out of an ice pick (i would not recommend this method). It worked for me but i was very careful and it stressed me the hell out while i was doing it.

i would be weary of using any type of pick or scraper in close proximity to your paint.

Hairdryer + fishing line or dental floss = seems the way to go.

Another question for the gallery:

With the fairladyZ emblem, is there a standard measurement as to where placement should be? Should I leave the Z on from the 350Z emblem and just put the fairlady to the left of it? or should I remove it all and make some sort of measurement?

Fishing line or dental floss. Then you can clean the sticky stuff left behind with Goo Gone.

Hairdryer and dental floss worked great.

Then to get the remaining adhesive off of the car, WD-40 works great. If you're putting a new emblem on, be sure to wash all the WD-40 off first!

I think I still have my Fairlady emblem foam. I can probably measure it this weekend if anyone really needs it. Although without the foam in hand it could be tough to keep it straight.

I actually left a little bit of the 350z glue towards the bottom of the lettering. Then I applied the Fairlady...and then removed the 350z remnants. It was kinda tough to get between the letters but in the end it worked out great.

So we know that using a hair dryer and fishing line and dental floss work but the real question is "What flavor do we use?". hahah Sweet cinnamon or miracle mile mint.

I used a plastic fork on the front burger. See "front emblem & plastic fork"
