Default Splash guards

I have a base Z with no splash guards. Every time I drive over roads with the slightest amounts of dirt it sounds like I'm driving on a gravel road and somebody is tossing rocks inside my car. Would splash guards fix this problem? Thanks

i don't think so. the zed sits very low and that's why you hear all the road noise.

so what do splash guards do then? Just keep water from splashing on the bumpers?

I bought mine with the splash guards. The splash guards didn't do much with stock tires / wheels. I wasn't sure if I liked the way they looked so I took them off. I like the Z much better without them on. It looks cleaner. I also found out that those splash guards also collected sand, dirt, etc... that was messing up the paint on the body and would have started to corode the wheel wells left on there imo. Granted it would take 3-5 years to start showing wear in Calif. But, is snow state .... look out.

Oh yeah to dampen the rocks and gravel you can undercoat your wheel wells. Helps some but, the rocks hitting the alum suspension parts still make a bit of noise. It does quiet it down a bit though. ;-)

Mine came with them as well but I like the look and left them on. They help from rock chips and stuff from your front wheels and dirt kicking up on your car. I take them off, which is really easy, and clean under them every now and then.

I have splash guards and not it doesn't help with this issue. You may want to consider adding some sound deadening material to help with this.

The front guards help keep rocks and stuff from chipping your doors. The rear are like a 3M film that help prevent scratches.

Thanks. I was just wondering if I was the only one with this problem but I guess it's common. I doesn't really bother me that much so I'll just deal with it.

usually getting a new pair of tires after the stock tires wear will help reduce a lot of road noise.

i have them also and road noise is jsut noisy in the Z, but my stereo has fixed that. I am not a fan of the look but they are staying on till spring when i swap on my new rockers and such. and thats interesting they capture dirt and crap behind them. that's not a good thing at all >.<
