Question Zee Bracket Question for Zee Bracket Owners

Okay, my understanding was the Zee Bracket does not involve drilling but I am now confused based on what I read over at courtesy parts (http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...Category_Code=)

Avoid drilling holes in your 350Z's front bumper when you install the front license plate.
Use the Zee-Bracket to mount your front license plate onto the front grill.
Bracket constructed from black anodized aluminum.
IMPORTANT: The bracket assembly must be completely removed whenever your 350Z is towed using the tow hook. Please keep appropriate tools handy in case of an emergency. Also, if you take your 350Z on the track, please remove the zee-bracket first.
You will need a drill and a 3/16" drill bit, as installation requires drilling two holes into the front grill.
So...I don't drill the front bumper, but I drill into the front grill? It seems like it defeated the purpose of "no drilling" if I just moved where I drill from the bumper to the grill. Anyone with clear pictures of the Zee Bracket and its installation that would be great. I did a search and saw a side pic of Davidv's install but it wasn't very clear on where this "front grill drilling" was.

I attempted a DIY alternative based on some other threads but I was unsuccessful. It involved using toggle bolts, universal frame holder, etc.

Anywho...I need to mount my front plate and I don't want to do any drilling period. Zip ties are only a temporary solution and I don't like to use them. Do you guys have any suggestions or just give me a better idea on how the Zee bracket works? Thanks.

try the stillen one, it's uses the tow hook connector to mount the plate.

bump:

I bought a Zee bracket and installed it. No drilling involved for the 06 models. The 03-05 models require drilling into the tow hook cover.

Now, I installed it but it seems to slide a bit to the left and right. I put the bolts relatively tight...so I don't know what exactly is up. Anyone have this issue?
