Does anyone know how to remove a reavview mirror? I have seen the hints on various web sites about inserting a small screwdriver and pulling upwards. Doesn't work. This is on a friends older G35 that doesn't have a temp/compass mirror (???) and we're trying to add one. Looks like the same mounting as my Z, but doesn't have the screw to loosen.

Help!!

Dave, the diagram is correct for all models except the base model that is not powered.

IMAKIWI, if the G a base? If so then you need to use a small flat head and push it toward the headliner (NOT AWAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD) while wiggling the mirror at the same time.

The Homelink/autodimming mirror request a torque driver to unscrew and the mirror slides right off.

It is a base. just has a mirror with no temp, lights or compass. I have seen the instructions about sliding a small screwdriver up, but it doesn't seem to do a thing. I'm pushing it into the space between the glued on part and the mirrow, then lifting up. The new mirror uses a screw like shown in Dave's drawing.

 

Still no success. Any more ideas?
