Motorsport Le Mans Spoiler Installed

Really?
That makes me very sad.
So... I guess the trick is to find one whose holes will be covered by the factory spoiler when it is replaced. Is this the case with the Lemanns or Daytona?
Those are my favorites. And the Blitz! What about the Blitz?

I will try to fix it this Spring though.
Of the 4 bolt holes, only the 2 outside ones line up with factory cutouts on the underside of the hatch. The other 2 bolt holes run smack into the sub frame support crap mentioned above. I'm only using the 2 outside bolts and no problems with it at all.
If I had it to do all over again, I probably would have bought the same Daytona wing I eneded up with or maybe no spoiler at all (ha right). If the le mans flipped up more, I would have got that one but I like how the Daytona flips up. On the other hand I like how the Le mans is a little bigger in size. In the end the flip won me over.
Gawd that last part sounded so freakin' ghey

Excellent information. I'm in this perdicament myself, but I will know once I see it in person.

Finished the install earlier tonight. I have to finish up with some final touches and modifications, but overall the wing is on. I thought it was a simple bolt on, but I guess you live and learn. I will post some pictures and etc.. maybe tommorow.

I can't wait to see pics and hear the details. This spoiler rocks. Did you have a previous OEM spoiler? I'm wondering if it covers the OEM spoiler's holes.
I got on my Le Mans CF spoiler installed on Tuesday that was a such a PAIN
. but it was worth it atleast. I used a spatula to take out the clips to get the panel off from the trunk. The drill bits and etc. can be found at Home Depot and are only a couple of dollars around $10 for both pilot bit and the one to create the bolt size.
Installation:
First time I laid the wing down uneven and man that was the biggest mistake I could have ever done. I only made a few marks and references on the corners and thought it was enough (big mistake). I had to remove it off the trunk and it took close to 2 hours and all my F'N energy since I used an adhesive promoter with the 3M tape ( I almost felt like giving up). Had to make the holes slightly larger from 1/2 to 3/4 penny size to make the proper adjustment as well.
There is no template like the Nismo spoiler but only the black plastic things to use and tape down under the Le Mans spoiler for referencing the mounting points. There is a good chance you won't line up the spoiler on the right place since there is no references to use on the trunk you have to measure yourself on both sides and do whatever you need to make sure the wing is aligned.
The second time I measured each corner and marked all corners and angles thoroughly it came out to be like around 6 inches in the middle of the wing to the bottom of the hatch and on the sides as well. I used electrical tape and had my cousin line it up and use the tape for reference. I literally checked almost 10 times before finally laying it flat down and mounting it temporarily.
I went to Home Depot got some black polyurethane silicone and sealed the wing to the body. No leaks,no water, no rust
The urethane silicone is a mess to work with. I had to use adhesive remover and take out the excess off I didn't want it to harden and permanently glaze the paint were the urethane excess got smudged off. If you ever use polyurethane silicone use it sparingly, because it is a b*tch to take off. Be prepared to wash the car after using the polyurethane silicone or else whatever excess left on your paint will be there FOREVER.
Seal spoiler- clean/wash car - practice csulb - Zaino z5 - Zaino Z6.
I had to do all this since my car was starting to look like sh*t from installing the spoiler. I had alot of tape residue, light scratches, and etc. After it was zainoed everything was peachy.
Review:
My experience with the Le Mans Spoiler was a real big inconvenience and hassle, but atleast the product is very well made and the quality of the carbon fiber weave is very impressive. Everything is there in the instructions and the support is also there from the company if you have any problems.
The only real drawback that I really saw was the mounting points on the spoiler. I had the already revised spoiler where they had moved the mounting points in the inner. I would love to have used the stock mounting points on the trunk since to me utilizing those mounts is more a "clean" install and will make this product even more competitive in the market.
To summarize for convenience sake you should just bring it to a body shop for installation. This will simplify everything if you do not already have a drill and drill bits and the stress of cutting into the body (for me this was too much work and not worth it to do it yourself).
Alternative:
One option is to just use some type of adhesive such as 3M double sided tape or double sided tape meant for permanent placement. I used the 3M tape with the red backing and adhesive promoter and honestly this was enough. My first mount was with those and I swear it took me hours and a bunch of miscellenous tools to take it off (with just tape and the promoter I guarantee that it will hold that spoiler at any speed). I did cover the entire bottom of the spoiler with the tape
I still used bolts just in case since I am a paranoid person.
I really love this spoiler though especially since I got the Carbon Fiber version and the slight contrast of it on a Super Black Z is really nice. This spoiler follows the body lines of the car as if it was made for it from the factory. It really is a beautiful spoiler well atleast in my opinion. I made the right choice in picking between the Daytona Spoiler and the Le Mans Spoiler.
