Default Front Lip paint cost

Hey guys I need to get my front lip repainted cs. My paint has been cracking and then peeling off because I've bottomed out a few times because of low clearance. I've used touch up paint to fill in the bad spots but its lookin a little ghetto. I'm sure its happened to other people so I was wondering how much you have paid to get the paint stripped off the lip and repainted. I know the matching of the paint will probably be the hardest thing and where most of the labor cost will come from but I was wonder how much you all have paid for something like this. I was talking to a guy today and he estimated that it could be $800 or more - but he wasn't a body work guy - just an NTB guy. Is that right? I mean I could buy two more lips for that price. Sounds a little much. Thanks.

Sorry but NTB guys are probably the last ones you need to talk to about this. They don't even do body or engine work. Some of them even have trouble with tire fitment and application questions. I would give it around 300ish and that would be a dealership quote.

are dealers generally pretty good at paint matching? i know they have the paint codes and all that but isn't there a little trial and error involved with the exact match due to sun fading etc?

It's trial and error with anybody. The quality of the match is really up to the eye of the tech doing the work. Still, I would think dealerships can it right more often than 3rd party, unless its a really good shop, since they work with the OEM colors more.

Depending on the work involved, I'd say $250-400 for a lip. Personally I'd balk at anything more than $300, but that's me.

depending on what kind of lip...i dont think you should pay for more than 200-300...for two reasons...i dont think it should really cost that much to repaint...and its just gonna get all messed up again...no use in getting a top notch job with the best paint and labor....thats just my opinion...just get something that looks good and works

I had my brand new Suzuka front lip painted for $150 from a very reputable, highly recommended local paint shop. Check a few paint shops and compare quotes. Use these quotes to get the best deal from a reputable shop. For a front lip, you don't need to go to the best & most expensive shop in town.

I had my entire Airwalker front bumper and side skirts painted for $850!! A lip should be no more then $150-200 MAX... You can bargain with them as well. THe cost of paint will only be around $20-30 on their end and maybe 3 hours of work prepping and painting.
$55 an hour X3=$165+30 for paint=$195
