Default Has anyone done their own spoiler install?

I'm working on my Nismo one right now. It's not too bad, except for all that damn double sided tape. It took HOURS to get that crap off.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and could give me some pointers for tomorrow night when I drill the holes. I've already got everything measured (thrice) and marked. And hubby is going to pick up more of that evil tape on his way home tonight.

I'll be sure to post pics after it's done, but I have a feeling that next time, I'll just bite the bullet and let the body shop charge me 36 bucks an hour for at least 6 hours.

BTW, thanks to Albert (AKA 01LTD) for taking care of getting the spoiler painted for me! They did an awesome job and I wanted to let everyone know what a great guy Albert is for helping me out.

Fron my paint guy I got the advice "drill the holes pretty large and try it in place before you expose the tape". You will also have to hole saw from the bottom to get to the two front center bolts from the bottom, it will be obvious when you pull the inner panel off. You drill from the outside through the inside layer with the 1/4" drill that is the center for the holesaw bit.
I ended up with about 3/8" holes in the exterior and put butyl rubber around the holes after I sealed the raw metal edges with touch up paint.
Drilling holes is just no fun, but the wing is big and will cover almost anything. Drilling the holes oversize allows you to shift the part slightly and align the back edge with the body line of the car.

Good luck!

How do you get the Inner Liner off? Is there an easy way to do this so that when I put it back on it won;t look like I ever took it off. The thought of hurting my baby is driving me crazy. Do I use a flat head screw driver? Please explain in detail.

I used a flat plastic tool for window installing, once I got under the udge I just worked my way around the perimeter of the panel and just popped it off.
