IIRC, the only difference between the '03 and '04 was how the nav door operates; everything is shaped the same and should thus be interchangable.

As for CF weave, IMO, the 2X2 "twill" weave is much more striking in appearance than the 1X1 "plain" weave. Most other aftermarket CF parts are 2X2 as well, so keep that in mind if you plan on doing more CF later.

Are you buying one of the kits or having your panels custom covered?

I just checked out the website and that dosent look like REAL carbon fiber. That looks like the cheap look alike checkerboard pattern that most companies try to pass of as cf.

Ooo, yeah, man, don't go with the fake stuff. Shoot tonester1011 a PM; he can do the real deal for you or consider one of the overlay kits like Evo-R or RSW.

b/c fake = poser rice-not fit to be in a car such as the Z.

Real CF is black; period. The other colors you see are not real CF. Suite-E Graphics does nice cusom work (very expensive), but that is not real CF (they DO do the real stuff, though).

Sorry but real carbon fiber can come in different colors. Such as silver, red, blue... Its called Kevlar/Carbon fiber. Its another color fiber that is crossed with carbon fibers... Thats the only REAL colored carbon fiber that you can buy. And yes that pic above looks like crap, that just looks like a vinyl overlay...

photos might allow some fake CF to look decent, but in person there is no comparison. Theres no depth to a sticker, and it will jump right out as being fake. Please no fake CF on your Z. That is all.

my work is real cf that gets clearcoated, just like the evo-r kits...but who knows when those are going to be available...like said above stickers will be obvious that they are stickers...the difference between the real deal cf and fake is night and day...oh and mine is permanent, it is not an overlay.

Not according to everything I've read. The colored stuff isn't true carbon fiber sheet. It may be a material similar in appearance and weave, and the parts made the same way, but it's not true CF and doesn't have the strength to weight ratio of it (i.e. you won't see body panels made of the stuff), but it's fine for pretty interior bits. Carbon Kevlar is just that; it's not carbon fiber (yet it is a similar light, strong material) that has a yellowish color. At any rat, any of these materials and the construction that they employ are better than cheap checker-patterned vinyl.

REAL cf is black and thats it...the silver stuff that looks like cf is called texalium i think...i have a roll of it because i have played around with it and wrapped some stuff with it before...it is ALOT thicker and heavier than real cf. it may be just as strong as real black cf but the weight difference is crazy...the picture of the blue console up top is definitely a print to look like cf. they also make red and blue sheets of stuff to look like real cf but they are not real wither. REAL CARBON FIBER IS BLACK!

Like I said above,

People that want a colored cf should get Kevlar/Carbon fiber like I stated above. That is the only way that you can obtain a cf colored look while still getting the strength and pattern of a real looking cf with color to it.

And for the record. No where did I state that REAL carbon fibers were not black. Everything that both of you stated is true, just felt like the bold words were directed at me.
