2003 to 2006 interior swap
Does anyone know if I swap the interior that everything is going to fall in place correctly. I have friend that totaled a 2006 350z with less 2000 miles on it. The interior is perfect dash, center console, door panels, seats, steering wheel, plastics behind the seats, etc.
But I was wondering if anyone has tried this and does everything still line up the same? I know around the shifter boot it looks to be alittle higher up. I was wondering if this will have any effect on gear changing. I know this is a broad question...
I have searched the interior forum for couple hours now and havnt found really anything in regards to this except door panel swaps.
Oh, and I know the radios are totally different thats not an issue I am going to be putting in AVIC-Z2 that I ordered a couple weeks ago that should be here by April.
Thanks for your time and input before hand...

Well, I am going to gut my interior this weekend. And go and pick up all the pieces from the salvage car and go from there. My old pieces will probably be up for sale in a week or two if all goes well.

I like the option of being able to have it either way. If I'm in the mood to enjoy the high tech aspects or show off all my options, I leave it open. If I'm going for that traditional, Teutonic sports-car look, I keep it closed.
It's nice to have options.

did someone say interior swap? https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....highlight=grey
its a pita man. I could do it easy now cuz i know the process but on first try its not alot of fun, especially the dash area.
What all are you switching, the entire interior or just the dash? Few words on the dash part:
-remove cup holder first when you go to remove the passenger side lower panel.
-to get the passenger side upper panel off you will have to go under the dash and remove the airbag unit (6 8mm nuts and 6 10mm plus some parts youll have to move out of the way.
-the main dash single piece (all other panels rmoved), can come out in one piece, just takes manuevering. The dash is huge and includes the side pieces that appear like they could be separate.
-to remove main dash single piece the driver gauges must be removed as well.
-when you go to reinstall the dash, be sure to have all the cables needed for the center gauges pulled through and ready for connection ( i didnt and it cost me 30 mins to take the dash out to get the wire out)
-battery disconnected when messing with airbag and gauges/radio
-the radio is connected to the center console, you have to remove console and then remove radio ect.
-start with the armrest piece/gear shift cover/center console area then work to the dash.

Last i remembered when this was brought up... the a/c controls from the 06+ cars didn't work when plugged into the harness from an 03-05 car. I don't know if this has been solved or not, can't remember reading anything further on that. (by not working, i mean that when the guys at performance nissan tried plugging it in, the vent/temp settings stayed on whatever setting it was no matter where you turned the controls *****)

I had an idea like your's where you could use the 06 dash/*****, but put the 03-05 controller behind it and somehow attach the ***** to it. But i just don't have the kind of money to buy and try in case it doesn't work at all.
