Default Taking badges off

Hey guys,

Wondering if i could take off the rear badges off my 350 without scratching the car? Is it just glued or are they bolted on?

Cheers.

Yeah think a bunch of people used a hair dryer and either floss or fishing wire... but on the nissan emblem though, there are holes behind there if you have a coupe.

I removed mine easily with blowdryer and strong dental floss. The only problem is I now have glue still barley stuck on my trunk .. even after washing it several times. I dont want to use GOO-GONE or anything like it, because it ruined my friends paint when he used it. What are you guys using to get this residue completly off. I know waxing it will help ... but i need to remove the glue first.

We don't need no stinking badges. When you do this alot of people will be asking you "What kind of car is that ?". I like when they do that.

One guy asked me this and I said a 350Z. He said, is that a Mazda? LOL. What do you expect from a mustang owner.

I used Goo-Gone on my super black to remove the badges and the paint looks new, zero blemishes. Hell i used the whole bottle plus i let the stuff soak and bake in the sun. It was then a matter of wiping it clean .

i removed my badges but i don't have the time or money to get it properly shaved so i painted two temporary corks that fill in the holes. its ghetto, but it looks 100 times better than the holes, lol

There is an automotive goo gone. I brought it at Autozone for like a dollar or so. It is a clear liquid instead of the orange/yellow liquid.

One advice is to just take your time. I used a claybar and wax on the remaning residue after removing the badge.

I posted on this topic before. After doing the hair dryer/floss removal of the front badge (which I replaced w/ a Courtesy Nissan Z emblem), I was reluctant to tackle the trunk deck. So, I took it to a local body shop who gently pried off the rear badge and removed any adhesive residue w/ an "eraser" wheel. Total charge under $11.00. I then used a little Menzerna Final polish and a coat of Meguire's NXT. No marks, no ghosting, just a clean cheap removal. For those of you worried about scratching or 100% removal of residue, I suggest you consult your trusted bodyman.
