Default fabric dye for headliner

I have been searching this subject for a while now and can't find what i'm looking for. Has anyone tried or know if we could use fabric dye to dye our headliners? I am looking into doing this or wrapping it in suade. There are a lot of threads regarding the suade options but i don't think that anyone has just used fabric dye. I know that someone on here used fabric dye for thier visors and it looked great.

Any info????

the color may not be even accross the fabric, I would switch fabric myself, a thin low-profile velvet works well

You should be abel to do it with duplicolor fabric and vinyl paint. There is a DIY on how to do the sun visors in the DIY section of the forums. I t should be the same for doing the headliner also. I'm probably going to be doing this to my headliner in the next week or so.
