Default Problem removing oem antenna

so, ive read that the removal of the antenna is pretty easy? just twist it off?

ive tried that in both directions, and it will not come off..i hope it not sealed with anything.

any suggestions???

btw if you bought it used...the person before you may have put loctite on it...and if that happened, sucks for you.

ya, i did buy it used...

dammit...i need to remove it...i wanna put a shorty on.

if it is put on with loctite , what can i do to remove it?

LOL!...why would someone put loctite on the antenna?...maybe try using some pliers to get a better grip...if there is loctite on there, i'm sure sure what you can do

Just make sure you are firmly grasping the base and twist (ouch that sounds painful)... At first it may seem tight if the guy never screwed it off to begin with but should come off no problem. Not sure why anyone would put locktite on our stock antenna tho... who would steal that mile-high thing? My s2000 one tho...

this is a common problem, you're suppose to tap the bottom edges with a sledge hammer and then have a friend stand on the truck and pull straight up. a few dents in the trunk is normal and don't worry if your neighbor looks at you and call the psychiatrist.

Dude, use both hands and some WD40 at the base. Make sure you're not screwing off the part that touches your fender. The antenna only please!

You have to do a couple of push ups first to get the blood pumping in your arms. Then you have to pound your chest and let out a cry of a beast. Then give it a try. If that doesnt work then your screwed buddy.

should have no problem removing it, so i dont know why im having probs with it...argh.

i had a s2k antenna on my celica before...it was fun jacking s2k antennas..oops did i just type that...???

im gonna try again when i get home tonite.
