Center console question
Quick question please if anybody is up right now and knows the answer~
I'm trying to remove the center console (not the vertical instrument panel, the horizontal trim from the shifter back b/t the seats)
I reaaly don't want to engage in the hassle of removing the shifter trim (I'd have to take off the shift ****) just to get the console out of the way.
It appears that the only thing keeping me from doing this is a thin piece of plastic linking at the front of the console (appears to be support for behind the AC controls).
Is this linking plastic really necessary? If i cut it out would I be messing up something I'm not aware of?
Thanks in advance for any insight

You can cut that piece; it won't hurt anything.
You can also remove the shift cover panel without removing the shift ****. Just lift and twist it enough so you can remove the 8 small brass screws underneath that hold the brushed AL trim ring and shift boot to it. The panel can then be removed, leaving the trim ring, shift boot and shift **** in the car. This is usefull to those of us that have shift ***** that simply will not come off without destroying them.
