I know, but I have come to the conclusion that I don't really care anymore lol. I should pick a color that I want regardless of how it will look on track or in pictures, etc. I have already accomplished all I wanted to with this car in terms of media exposure and such and I had to remind myself of that. I originally wanted a brighter color because it would look better on track and in pictures and bring more attention to the car, but when it comes down to it I don't care about all that. I just want to be out on the track. I am not caught up in the JDM scene or the drifting scene, or any of that stuff. I have always been into old hot rods, punk music, extreme sports, and things of that nature so flat black to me looks mean as hell and fits my personality more than a bright red, blue, or green.

Thanks man. The goal is to have the paint and full roll cage done by the time attack at the end of April. If the cage takes too long, then the paint will have to wait until after that.

I will be running a few small decals at the time attack only. Nothing crazy like it was at SEMA or the last 2 Time Attacks.

^^^Yeah. It will probably be more of a Satin Black as opposed to Flat Black.

I've got a great idea for C/F accents. With C/F hood and fenders, put on your stickers and have them paint the hood and fenders. After everything is painted and dried, pull off the stickers and you have exposed C/F instead of stickers. You could do the same thing with a carbon hatch and doors and do the 350Z or something on the back of the hatch. With the all black theme, that would look badass.

Cool idea, but what happens when I change sponsors? Or don't run sponsors anymore? I only plan on running stickers at the next time attack, then they all come off.

Good point, but it could still be done in the stock badge locations. You would just have to get some custom stickers made up.

Yep, or use the factory emblems to block it out. Could be kinda cool.

Satin black sounds neat and different, I'd love to see it finished.

Here's a taste of what the red wine flamboyance by PPG looks like. It may look lighter because it's in the sun.

Mikey (350ZNV),

Yeah, If we can't come up with a bright color that hasn't been played out, then I agree. Lets do the Semi-flat (satin) black, We both seem to go back to that every time. Funny, the more I played around with different colors, the more I liked the silver that the car already is, but the satin black will be hot with the chrome stickers, carbon fiber, and red & gloss black accents. It will be mean, I cant wait to get started on it. I am glad we always seem to have similer taste. Not only will it look meaner, it will be meaner.

I am still stuck on the Satin Black idea, but I have been talking with a guy at BASF and he informed me that I could have any color I wanted in a flat finish. That opens up some more possibilities....

I can't wait for you to get started on it either . Has it hit the fabricator yet?

Default if your still interested on green

Mistubishi only put out a few sherwood green 3rd gen eclipses. I was one of the lucky few. I had people asking me all the time if it was a custom paint job becuase they didn't that color often. It also looks great with carbon fiber.
