hey guys, so one of my brake lights went out. so naturally I went to replace the bulb, which didn't fix it so I swapped the bulb sockets and it turned out the socket was bad as well. so I go down to the nearest nissan parts dept, give them the socket and ask for a new one. they tell me that they don't sell the socket seperate and that the only way to get it is to order a whole new brake light assembly?!!! I mean WTF is that? if that is true then that is the stupidest freakin design ever? I mean why make the socket removable from the wiring harness if you can't even buy the thing? can anyone or any sponsor point me in the right direction to finding a replacement? here is a picture of the thing.

Yeah I went through that deal with my car. I think I may have that one though on a spare cut harness. I'll let you know here in a bit.

 

Looks like I have every bulb socket except that one in my parts bucket. I still have a few places I can check tommorrow though.

so am I the first guy to have this happen or what? none of you vendors have a solution?

 

if i had this problem I would call/PM one of the OEM vendors directly. they may not be cruising as "deep" into the forums on the weekend.
