How to remove the factory shift knob?

Default How to remove the factory shift ****?

I have a 2004 350z and I want to install a new shift **** but dont know how to remove the oem one. could some one tell me step by step how to? thanks.

there's a DIY post on this subject, on the home page. Not too hard to do, just takes a lot of elbow grease if you don't have any tools.

My nismo shift **** had instructions. If i were you, i would clamp the shifter with some pliars while your twisting that shift **** off so you don't damage any linkage or other parts.

Everyone makes it sound so easy. Mine was initially installed by Andre the Giant on steroids. There was no humanly way possible for me to twist mine to the left with out the aid of tools.

Go to Sears, and get a set of Locking Pliers. The pliers will give you the extra leverage you need.
