Default Scraaaaaaaape

So I recently purchase a Z that has been lowered. The bottom scrapes at a number of driveways I've tried to go through. Other then obviously raising the car is their some kind of panel I can put on the underside of the car to keep from damaging the actual body? Like a skid plate or something. Or is there a certain way that I can approach the driveways to keep from scraping?

Go at an angle. I really don't see there being many problems though.

There is someone selling C/F undertrays that would attach under bodywork. They wanted $300 for a set. Do search here if you don't find it I will look again.

Eh not sure I want to spend $300 on a big piece of carbon fiber that I'm going to to drag on the pavement. Are their plastic undertrays?

I 100% agree.....but after 2 or 3 attempts it should be common sense. I appreciate your kind nature...but it pains me to see a Z being hurt...and there is virtually no excuse for this one to me.

I only have 2.5-3in. clearance and I get in my driveway. You just have to go slow and take your time and yes, at an angle. Mine are very sharp ones but, it can be done. Just be careful.

If it's severely steep, airbag suspension might be an option.

my Z is dropped 1" with 20 inch wheels, and I had an INGS lip on the front. I could drive that thing like it was stock heigth, but when I got my nismo 2 front, I have to literally drive the car like its a lemans prototype car, seriously almost impossible to drive as an every day. Since the lip on the front of the bumper has corners that come way out to the front, you cant just do a normal angle entry, you have to go almost parellel to the driveway, its such a pain

Nope sorrry ; - ) I think you misunderstood me though. It's not that I want to scrape my car it just that carbon fiber seems a bit overboard for something that's ment to get scraped up

I'll try going into and over driveways at an angle, and see how well that works.

You should be good if you angle on driveways. How low is the car? A good estimate would give everyone a better idea. My car is lowered 1inch and I have issues whatsoever.

learn to drive a lowered car. never go over anything steep or deep straight, always take the most extreme angle you can, and go slow. treat speed bumps/humps the same way.

You can't drive a lowered car like normal. My old Civic was dropped about 2" and I always drive with my eyes 50 yards ahead of me for dips, bumps, and cracks. Also, some ramps, drive ways and speed bumps will own you and it's not worth trying even at an angle. You will just have to learn the friendlist route around town even if it's going to take you longer.

Forget that, just weld a thick piece of metal to the underside of the frame so that when you scrape it shoots sparks. Like they do on lowriders.

I'm not sure how much lower my car is, as it was lowered when I bought it. Here are some pictures though.

I'm not lowered and I will scrape every time at the transition from the street to my driveway unless I approach from an angle at low speed. Same with backing out. Experiment with different angles and go slowwwww.
