Tint stripping
take it to a tint place. they will know how. if its a 2002 model, it probably wont be too hard cuz its relatively new. the only difficult part, i would guess, is preventing any damage to the rear defrosters. good luck.
Here's a trick that I learned from a tint shop in Charlotte (Lightning Mikes). They did it to my last car. Spray the inside of the tinted windows heavily with "simple green" then cut a regular black trash bag to the dimension of the window and put it on the inside of the window. Let the car sit it the sun for a couple of hours and then take the trash bag off. The tint will come off allot easier because the simple green has loosend up the glue. The glue on tint is VERY tacky and won't come off with soap & water as easily. Good luck!!
You might also want to try (now I know this sounds wierd) some 0000 steel wool. I thought people were crazy that told me that, but tried it anyways on my audi. I just sprayed the rear window with some windex or sopay water & then just scrubbed the window with the steel wool. It doesn't scratch the window or remove the defrosters. You need to be patient though! I think it took me a few hours to get all of that stuff off! Hope that helps
Go to WalMart and buy some ammonia or Tint-off liquid.
Scratch the tint near the edges-not the glass-careful.
Slowly spray the stuff carefullyworking the tint towards the middle of the glass. when the tint is gone remove the residue with laquer thinner- not mineral spirits.
It is very easy.
Took off my expensive professional job last weekend and redid it myself correctly.
