I just went and got an estimate for a paint job on my car. I don’t have any real damage to the vehicle, just a whole crap load of rock chips on the front bumper, hood, and the front of the fenders. I have some door dings along the sides as well. In this quote, I am having a 06 front bumper put on (my car is a 03) with the front shaved. The car will be repainted back the same color (Redline) as well as a spray on clear bra (f/bumper, half of hood, and f/fenders). They are going to remove bumpers, rubbers, lights, etc and paint everything. Some of you might wonder why I wouldn’t take the op and go back with some sort of body kit.. well, I have thought about this and if you are familiar with the streets in New Orleans you would understand why… The only kit I care for is the INGS LX and there is no way I can drive around here with that kit and a 1” drop which I am about to do once I get my Volks ready to put on.
The price came out to be $5100.00
This would be my first paint job and I am not familiar with what the avg cost is. Does this sound fair? The shop is a well known shop and does excellent work.

That's a little high considering they won't have to jam the car. I've never done a spray on bra, so that might have something to do with price. For all that, excluding the bra I would probably charge in the vicinity of half that. Then again I'm located in KY and rates are most likely different here.
Sometimes it's hard to tell when it comes to paint and bodywork. Quality is always good though. My 5 piece body kit and install with fog lights were 1500if that helps. Only complaint is that the paint could of matched a tad better. It's not bad at all according to others but I tend to be real picky sometimes. It seems to be about just like everybody else though.

its not the 3M product you are talking about.. I can get more details on it for you. The owner of the shop showed me his Hummer with this applied on it. It does however take some of the shine away wherever it is applied. Not much though.
