Default Trunk Lift Support

Hey guys my trunk's lift supports are shot and i was wondering if that was only due to regular wear and tear because some other Z owners were tellin me that my spoiler was causing the lift support to fail. The spoiler is not huge, its the nismo style spoiler, so thats why i want another opinion. If anybody's got any advice or experience with this kinda problem please help me out. Oh and if it is due to the spoiler does anybody know where i can get stronger lift supports?

-Thanks Yung350z

its the spoiler, nismo even makes a replacement or go for a cheaper solution from a 3rd party company. I believe their is a sponsor that sells these, check classifieds.

I have the Nismo spoiler as well and the trunk always falls down. This is normal if you add that spoiler on. The only thing you can pretty much do is upgrade the stock parts.

^+1! I bought a pair from Jason and they work great!! I have the Nismo spoiler as well, and the damn thing kept falling on my head! With the new struts, as soon as i open the hatch a quarter of the way open, the struts raises the hatch by themselves the rest of the way. Would definitely recommend them!

+1 on jason's hatch shocks. best mod I've ever purchased! more so than my twin turbo. no more using my head to open the trunk. you outta see my neck muscles, it's bigger than any football player.

I have an OEM spoiler. If I'm not careful especially when it's cold outside the damn hatch is out for my head!! I think I need to get one of ^ heavy duty ones too!
