Default Center Console wont come out

I've removed everything as far as i can see, the center console comes out about 2-3 inches, but thats it. It seems like its stuck on the white computer piece that runs the Heating panel. I cant get it out far enough to pull the wires on the radio. And yes i've unplugged the wires at the top of the console....I've checked the wiki's, what am i missing?

I just had mine out 2 days ago on my 2004. That white computer piece might have to come out completely, but i'm not positive. Make sure you got all the screws. One on each side behind each seat, one under the ash tray, and the 2 up front. Also the harness for the hazard lights has to be disconnected.

EDIT: thought you were talking about the lower part with the EBrake. To get to the back of the radio, the harness for the 3 guages up top has to be disconected on the left side and the white computer part does have to come out.

The white AC box...don't take it completley out...it wiggles loose, then kinda slides out 3-4 inches w/ the head unit, at this point just slide it away from the head unit. - play w/ it a little - you'll get it.

what year is your z? I got 06 and there are 2 bolts next to two bolts holding the white plastic box(temperature control module). These bolts need to be removed because they hold bottom part of headunit brackets. I heard that earlier models don't have these bolts, but check them just in case.

I had the same problem the first time. It pulls out a couple inches, and then you have to pull the top out more, so that the arm brackets on the side of the headunit work away from the ac box. It is a pain in the *** at first but it comes out and the ac box does "wiggle" free. For the record, it goes back together easily.

I got an 03 but its basically the same idea...give or take a couple bolts...+1 on getting the brackets to clear.

well i got it out, what i had to do was this, the AC controller has to be pulled out quite a ways, and theres a couple little **** on both sides that you have to wiggle past the steel frame for the radio, and once that is past the frame, pull it forward enough to swing the console frame out and around, and then it will come free. Took a little bit, but i didnt want to start breaking things,a or rip anything out that i shouldn't!!..
So thankyou for all your help.. once its sanded, smoothed and painted.. i'll drop some pics, AND, i'll have my new Razo RA89 shifter with a carbon fiber shift boot as well.. Cant wait...
