Default Gauge Pod - Finished Product

I finally finished my gauge pod project. You may remember a while back when I was contemplating painting the piece or covering it in carbon fiber. Well I didn't do either. I decided to find the closest match I could find to my stock interior and cover the pod with that vinyl.

The main reason I did this was to develop a better place for my PLX device to mount to so that it could be easily visible, instead of putting it in my center console cubby. I've gotten a lot of compliments so far locally, and a few people that want me to do something similar for them, whether it be for a dual gauge pod, or something similar to what I did for another wideband, turbo timer, or some other display in that same spot.

I think it fits well with the stock Z interior - not too flashy, but also something kind of different. And I love the looks of the Defi Blue Racer Boost gauge!

Let me know what you think!

Before Vinyl:

After Vinyl, without PLX R500 mounted:

Driver's View, I haven't decided how I want to attach the PLX device yet, probably velcro eventually, but a black rubber band for now! :

Thanks for all the compliments. Yes, I know the PLX looks like a gameboy! But you can't deny it's huge amount of functions and data logging cabailities. It's extremely useful, but could have been designed to look better, I agree!

The stock-ish look was what I was looking for. I wanted it to fit with the car, but also look custom and professional at the same time.

I am looking into purchasing a bunch of pods and such to make some for friends, so let me know if you're interested in buying one and all I will need to get is the vinyl for the Z's.

All that work and the PLX looks like it's attached with a rubber band. Get some velcro or 3M tape for a cleaner look. Other than that, a very nice job.

Yup... if you check out my original post you'll notice that I am using a rubber band for now until I decide how I choose to attach it.
