Went to local Autozone store and got the exactly same one as Dr.Bonz did it was 9 bucks and it was the fender molding or something...
It was a lot easier than tape-strip type I had to cut it and wrap around..
And also it looked a lot more reliable and sticky!
Personally, I love it

Good point about the cut ends. I may slap on a little clear nail polish. That sounds quick and easy.

Can't wait to get my car back....it's in the shop getting NISMO body kit installed.

I just put some clear nail polish on the ends of the strips on my girls Z. I wish I would have realized to do that before it put it on, but it was no big deal, just wipe away what gets on the black plastic.

I did this to my silverstone today and it looks great! I used the "rap-around" kind and the whole thing look like 10 minutes.

It is much easier to push on the grill if you let it sit in the sun for a few minutes to warm it up. What a great, CHEAP mod!

I used the truck molding purchased from Advanced Auto, but am having problems with it staying on. Wonder if the nail polish would help keep it in place.

just a suggestion for anyone who's going to put the strips on....when u cut them, carefully seal the cut edges with super glue or clear nail polish. the first time i put them on, water got into them and ended up separating the clear coating from the chrome. i've now had them on for about 4 months and no problems.

The one that says "for Trucks" as posted before works the best. The other smaller U shaped stuff works itself off over time.

Here is mine. It has been on there for 20 months and only the top piece has gotten messed up and needs replaced. That being said I really am looking for a whole new look. I may go back to black for a while. I am looking for a new grill, but this has been the best looing option IMO.

You get the door-edging kind from advance auto parts. 6 bux for a 10 foot roll. It's in a box with a picture of a truck on it showing the stuff on it. Make sure you get the kind with the little sticky stuff in the back of it so it can't squeeze itself off.

P.S. I know this is an old thread but...

Question for anyone who's done this. Did you cut the strip where the toe-hook goes just in case or run the strip right over it?

This is a blast from the past!

I ran mine right over it. If you need it, you can always do it again, but I hope I never need that hook.

I went right over it too. I even took it off to put my CAI on and it went back on with no problems. Just heat it up a little with a hair-dryer to moisten the adhesive.
