+1 on the please dont. lambo doors r strictly for show cars. trust me u'll regret it. my friend has a set on his bmw, and he hates the damn things and it cost almost 2k. save the money and get sum power mods, and u may be able to keep up with the cars that come factory w/ vertical doors

There was a thread on one of the Z sites about structural failure on the car frame where the doors attach with the Lambos.

I know a guy that put Lambo doors on his Scion. Everything looks stock for the most part until he opens up his doors. He can hardly get in and out of the damn car cause the doors don't open up all the way.

I have another friend that installed Lambo doors on one of Zach Randolph's (of the Blazers) cars. I got in it and the doors didn't feel very solid when they were down. You had to be careful closing the doors cause there was so much play in the mechanism that the doors didn't always line up right.

Chicks dig fast cars and the long ball, not vertical doors... COMPLETE waste of money... unless you're going all show. But it's not practical AT ALL for the street... If you want to get something that makes your car look cool, at least make it something that looks good as you're driving down road and not just parked

+1 on the 'please don't'...

Lambo doors are called that way becuase they belong to Lambos... no to Z's. Our cars have different 'sale points' and these gimmicks are not that hot anyway.

I also agree that saving those $$$ for some power mods is the best option.

But well, it is your car and you can certainly choose to disagree... and everything will be fine.

Good Luck!
C.

I'm sure someone out there has engineered a good Lambo style door kit, but all the ones I've seen are absolutely atrocious. Like others have said, they are wobbly, never seem to line up quite right, and I wouldn't be surprised if they caused the mounting points to fail from the additional load caused by raising the doors.

They look silly when you try to close it and you see the door wobbling, or when you have to lift the door slightly to get it to latch correctly. The poor quality/operation makes it seem like downgrading rather than upgrading. If someone creates a smooth, solid mechanism like the ones in actual Lamborghinis, then I could see people wanting to do that with their cars, but otherwise, it seems cumbersome for everyday use.

I saw a Z at the dealer with Lambo doors and they said that they installed them there. As far as usability of these doors goes... well they are pretty useless. Heavy to open and they don't just go up. First you have to push them out to the side and then up. What's worse is trying to close one sitting down. I'm 6.2 and I could barely reach that handle to pull the door. IMHO it's a waste of money for everyday life.

P.S. If you want to impress a girl buy her flowers .

Personally, I think lambo doors are gay (no offense). They call them lambo doors for a reason.

Well...they were coined Lambo doors by the populous just because everyone associated that type of door mechanism with a Lamborghini. They're actually called "scissor doors".
