Yes, but I'm wondering what that could be though. I trust you removed the HID Control Unit, connecting wire (fat silver one) from underneath it, HID bulb, etc? Basically, everything except the main wiring harness is removable. Even the main harness will come off if its base is snipped off. But it is only wire though, so that much heat doesn't really do anything to it.

 

Here's the comparison pic. The right one had been painted by then but not the left. I am experimenting with a color mod, hence the diffused color band on the right, but you get the idea about the intensity.

 

im in the process of blacking out my housings, too, but i dont know what part to black out.
