Default Stillen Spoiler install issue, any help please

Did a search and most were about it or with pics, nothing on install issue. Long story short, I purchased a copy version of the Stillen spoiler on a reputable E-bay dealer. It came painted and was a beautiful nice match to my PPW. I attempted to put it on with my neighbor and it appeard to not fit correctly (of course, we REALLY realized this after the holes were drilled). If I had one side fully flushed, the other would not be. Brought it in to the body shop and they confirmed it was not a good exact fit. He tested it out and will be able to set the top /sides flush, however, the bottom end of the spoiler/underside where the Nissan emblem would be would be a bit (very slightly) off of the car trunk bottom edge and he would try and fill it.

My question is, those who bought the REAL version of the Stillen spoiler...did you have fitment issues at all, or was it basically as simple as drill the holes put it on and done? If it is, I will just return the copy spoiler and purchase the real one with Stillen and then get it painted and put on. If there was still some fitment issues and massaging needed, I will just stick with the copy and have the shop do the work. Thanks very much in advance!

Stillen spoiler

BTW, I am driving the 07 and was told no difference and that this should fit it. Wrong?

Thanks, I got some outside feedback on it as well stating fitment was near perfect with the Stillen. Went ahead and ordered it today...I should have just went that route, but the ease of getting ot painted prior to arriving in my hands was too tempting. I guess just paying the extra bills for the paint and wait time once I get it is the better idea than trying to "fit" the bootleg copy...

you should never drill holes to install stillen spoiler. I just bought a used one and it fits pretty good.

Look for "3M HBV tape" on this forum. I believe I posted one not too long ago and long with the website where you can buy 3m HBV tape for cheap.

Let me know if you need help searching.

BTW, 3M HVB tape #4929(.25 mm thickness) is a perfect tape. Don't even try to use the 3m tape from pepboys. It doesn't work.

I had stillen on my spoiler for almost amonth and no problem so far.

I definetly want screws in mine. keeps it nice and tight. If you live near hot weather, the metal form your hatch will heat up and cause the tape to get soft. this will leed to to spoiler lifting i some areas. believe me I've seen it happen. plus with no screws someone can just rip it off. you make the choice...

Anytime you purchase a replica part, especially off Ebay, you are taking some risks. I have seen replica parts that fit well, but the majority do not.

I've had my Stillen replica on for 3 years. I've only had one probelm, it started taking in water . Whenever I'd open or close the rear hatch, you could hear water sloshing around. I went back around 6 months ago and they drilled some drain holes on the inside of the spoiler near the bottom. They aren't visible from the outside.
To this day I haven't had any more problems with it retaining water
