Does anyone know where i could get the front license plate braket that a could purchase for the cheapest price. I got my first ticket today for no front plate. and I would hate to drill holes in my bumper.

Check the Z-bracket. You drill 2 tiny holes in the grill.

 

monday i got my first fix-it ticket for my 03 since 03. i've never encountered such a mickey mouse bullsh!t before... take the damn thing off once you fixed it.

 

zip tie the black bracket the car came with to the plastic "grill" thing that covers the tow hook. bolt the license plate onto the bracket. it totally looks clean and looks like it's bolted on.

after about 10 times of getting stopped for no plates and the cops taking 3 of my pba cards i finally put mine on...i jut made my own brackets...i bent 2 pieces of flat aluminum in a 90 degree angle and painted them black...used those for some nice brackets

 

I had an old Mazda Mx3 as my first car, which i drove with no front plate for about 3 years. I was never give a problem with it.

My Mustang had no front plate, drove it like that for a year and a half. Cops never gave me a problem with it. They'd ask about it once they pulled me over (speeding). But never a ticket for it.

I took the front plate off my Z after almost a year with the stupid holes. About 6 months later i get pulled over for that alone. So i put it back on with a Stillen bracket.

nope, not at all. i used a zip tie gun to get it as tight as possible.

 

where can i get a zip tie gun?

 

you really don't need one, it basically just tightens the zip and cuts teh extra off flush... you can do that with your hands and a pair of scissors

 

hell yea, where points did you put the zip ties through. I slid the metal pieces through but i dont know if itll hold. I have zip ties at work right now and im going to install them in the morning.

I use the zip tie method with the bracket that came with the car. I only put it on when I go on long trips. HPD doesn't bother me, but the DPS will stop me every time I get onto a major Highway...weird. Its been like that with both my Z's and my Altima. No problems.

 

why not use the stillen one that uses your tow hook hole? just got pulled over for the same thing. plus, tinted windows.

 

damn $200? you can't just get it signed off when you install it? that's cali law..you end up paying a $10-20 processing fee.

i zip tied the black bracket onto car itself, then bolted the plate to the bracket using the bolts that came with the bracket.. and the white plastic things are like... hmm i guess a different sort of nut, that holds the bolt on..so the end of the bolt doesn't scratch the car, maybe?

ohh yeah, the black bracket came with the car.

stillen bracket = ~$30
zip ties = much, much less

the zip ties don't wear out? if this works, hell yeah i'm gonna do it!

 

well i'd be smart about it and change it out every couple of months..
