umm i have heard of them but you have to be careful. the light weight batteries are only good for running the car. If you have any stereo equip or are listening to music the with car not running it wont be able to handle that.
3lbs = 300 amps 7Ah $225
4.5 lbs = 500+ amps 12Ah $330
8 lbs = 600+ amps 23Ah $405
That's amazing how light they are but that Amp/hour rating is what is telling. With that $405 8 pound battery you're going to be listening to your stereo for about a half an hour before needing a jump. If you've got an after market amplifier forget about it with that little 7Ah battery.
A group 34 Optima red top runs about $200, weighs about 37 lbs, and has 50 Ah. Ten times the weight, about the same cost, and 7 times the power of the little 3 pound battery.

Yes that's the disadvantage, low Ah ratings compared to heavier batteries. But about the stereo, it only affects listening time when your engine is off. When your engine is on, the alternator is what's supplying the energy. As for an aftermarket amplifier, any of the Voltphreaks batteries would work, they are VERY powerful, and 300 amps is a LOT, it's equal to 3600 watts of amplifiers! Our smallest model (VPHR7) would work, but you wouldn't be listening for very long, due to the low Ah rating.
Anyways just wanted to comment that these batteries can handle any stereo just fine as long as listening with the engine off isn't a priority. And the Red Tops you mentioned are great batteries!
