How do you get the silver trim off around the Speedometer/Fuel Clusters?

How do you get the silver trim off around the Speedometer/Fuel Clusters?
Anyone taken of this trim right behind your steering wheel? Its the silver circular piece that is around your speedometer and Fuel display. Please let me know how it is connected. I would like to paint mine but do not want to destroy it attempting to take it off.
