Stock Shiftknob
i know this is the wrong section, but it always gets the quickest response.

I wanted to know, for anyone who had a problem, how the f*ck did you get it off?! i've tried for a solid hour with 2 wrenches and im just starting to tear the leather on my stock ****.. i got a Nismo shiftknob and i can't put that sum ***** on cuz i can't take the stock one off! i hear 2003's have this problem.. but i have an 04!
someone please let me know what the hell you did, thanks.

yeah on some Zs you almost have to destroy the stock shifter getting it off. the Dealer used like 3 wrenches on mine and tore it all to hell. they will come off but they can be a pain. basically just done let the shifter pole turn when are putting pressure on getting the **** off

Yeah.. just dont make the mistake of trying to take it off in middle of driving. I had just picked up a nismo **** and decided to unwrap it and install it on the way home. I also drive aggressively.

I just removed mine the other day. I initially started with the wrenches but simply could not get enough torque with them, threw the wrenches aside, literally cuz I was pissed, and layed my right hand on the ****, left hand over my right, squeezed the crap outta the **** and turned. Didn't budge, started sweating like crazy, got more pissed, kept trying until finally it moved ever so slightly, took a break. Came back a short time later and used the same method, BAM, off she came. I guess its just one of those things man.
