Anybody have an idea about color matching door handles....them silver things on my black z look terrible...the paint shop sez paint wont stick.....anybody anybody...and btw I saw somebody with a Z muffler ...where do you get those.....tia

 

A handful of people have painted their handles. In fact, there was a thread here just last week with some pics of a black car.

The handles aren't aluminum, they are just plastic painted to look like aliminum. Paint should stick just fine, as what is there is already paint.

 

thats great news...nobody not even the parts department knew wat they were made of.....great thanks....btw do they look better painted?...wat do you think.

dam that looks great......you know....the car looks so great as it rolled off the line you can bet that the designers hashed everything out quite thoroughly including the door handles....my guess is that next years models will have matching handles....I heard that only 15000 z.s were slated for the USA...so divide that with 8 colors most silver and grey i suppose .....there wont be many black ones around.....the dealer i bot mine from sold 6 in 3 days....sticker price....some dealers around detroit getting 2 to 3k over sticker....all them vettes around here are a dime a dozen...but the z draws a crowd where ever i park it...and black is IMHO THE ONLY COLOR...SNORT....LOL

Actually, there will be closer to 30,000 a year, right about Vette production numbers on an annual basis.

 

i hate the door handles painted...i say stick with the regular handles cause you can see the original design that give the Z its sleek look.

 

I have a black 350 and I think that the original aluminum looking door handles really stand out and make the car look great, why would you want to change them?

 

No offense but I think painting the door handles actually cheepen the look of the car. I have a SB and love the way the handle look different form other cars. By painting them you kinda move into the class of civics,accord and NEONS!!!

They were painted silver for a reason!
