Default Damaged CF Lip!!

What todo next
i am going the route of repairing it then painting it. My choose is Black and leave my airduct and rear spoiler CF, or paint it PPW and paint all the CF the PPW. I will be painting it myself since my money is tight this year. I have all the tools to paint it, just need to get the PPW.

Here is a full un damaged picture:

This is the reason I suggest to all my customers not to buy CF pieces for the front of the car. One crack and it's done.

Well it wont be to bad, i did have a clear bra on it and that saved it from all those rocks from chipping and cracking it. But it didnt help with a 2'x4' peace of metal, it would have damaged any bumber

Ill be able to fix it, just not sure witch way to go with paint. Black or PPW. if i do black all ill paint is the lip. If i go with PPW then ill want to paint all my CF that.

Paint that area PPW and leave the center CF. Should look good.

i agree 100%, i still want a black lip look so im switching my attention to black gel coated reinforced fiberglass or black urethane.

That sounds like a great idea. Less area i have to spray. Plus if i dont like it, then i can repaint it

Just my insight on reinforced fiberglass (or FRP)....my VeilSide V1 lip is FRP and it cracked very easily in one of the corners (where it wraps around into the wheel well) when we were test fitting it. I agree it is a little more forgiving than straight fiberglass, but I think it tends more towards fiberglass than plastic with regards to material properties.

Another thought is that although fiberglass parts break instead of bending, it is much easier to repair fiberglass than to repair urethane. Urethane will bend but it will also tear, and short of melting/stretching material back into place there is no great way to repair it. Although I do think that urethane would be a better pick for the front end, because you would have to hit something pretty hard to tear a hole in the front lip.

Yep, my rims are holding up pretty good, i have had them on for a year now with no troubles.

Im still debating weather to the sides PPW center CF or just all Black.

Editing:

Well i desided to go black. I think it will look better then part ppw and part cf. Plus then i dont have to paint the other part ppw
Oh and i looked closer to the damages, it sliced the bottom from the hole to the back, so the underside will need a splint.

I started surgery today on the damaged spot. Im trasforming it into the bionic Lip, faster, stronger and be able lep over other cars LOL j/k
I got the splint fastened, let just say its not coming off I got the hole patched and i in-filled just a little higher then the rest of the lip. Earier to sand down and fit the contouers. Tomorrow is sanding day. Ill take picture tomorrow after sanding.

Go with black...PPW is going to be very, very hard to match!

Just the typical garbage on the Fwy, ran over a peace of metal. Was unavoidable

Cant you just get it shaved down and re-clear it?? Or buy a new one.. Cost is what 3-400?? Paint would cost like 1-200.. Id rather have another cf piece..
