Default Interior problems

I know there was a post from someone who had paint coming off all over in the interior of an 06 with 22k on it. Yes I can't find the thread.

Just had my 06 enthusiast in with 2800 miles on it to the dealer. Since I know this has been a problem for some people I got the car in fairly quickly once I noticed the issue. the results...

The paint/coating on the center console flip up lid latch release (the one above the radio) is coming off. I was told by the dealer. "Nissan's finish warranty is odd. It isn't covered but we'll replace it once as a courtesy."

Less than 3000 miles and paint is coming off and it isn't covered? If this is Nissan's idea of a warranty, a quality product, and customer service then I guess I'll by from someone else next time.

Nissan is very bad about their warranty. I had to fight just to get a rental car after they diagnosed my transmission was bad. Also, dont even try to contact Nissan consumer warranty department, they will only blow you off. But goodluck with your Z.

The coating they put on my 07 interior door panel where the window switches and door handle are is extremely delicate. Never had any sharp or hard objects touch it, and i already have a chip. I was thinking of getting them covered with leather to match but i am not sure what they are made of.

I like the fact that they are going to fix it ONCE for you.
Hopefully ONCE will be enough.

yeah my console is totally messed up too - I have black int, but there are permanent scratches/light chips that make it look like there are gray spots. <-from the previous owner ): (

I want a dash kit anyways though.

Same here on my '06, the "rubberized" coating on the cubby switch is wearing off, also on my passenger door armrest that holds the switches. Another thread here details that one. So Nissan won't cover this? After my oil consumption engine replacement I agree with you, Nissan is sucking more and more in my view.

Unfortunately it will probably be the same part off the shelf, with no re-tool by Nissan to correct the rubberized coating deficiency.
