Default 06+ Headlights 'Whited' out

Was looking to see if anyone had their 06+ Headlights color matched to their car in ANY other color besides black.

I see many 'blacked' out headlights on lots of Z's...Black on PPW, Black on Redline, Black on Black...very common.

so who out there has say Blue on Blue, White on White ???

i ask because i really want to see what my PPW would look like with color matched headlights...kinda like the Ferrarris do, and some Porches..

Mr Zipps..please chime in if you have any pics...REMEMBER 06+ headlights ONLY....02-05 dont look so good because you have to paint around the chrome reflector, or else you wont get any light.. lol

Blue on Blue has already been done. I've been thinking of what white on white would look like, but on the same light, might be a bit too much. Contrast is always good. I believe some members have also painted them a dark grey/silverstone color. Just search, you'll find it

thanks for the help.

i like the blue one, i didnt find that when i searched.

i did find the whited out thread, but the pics were on another forums and the guy removed them so i couldnt see them..

so what do you guys think?? is blacked out a better look a white Z or should i try to color match?

im gonna be buying an OEM style CF spoiler and blacking out the tail/turn lights this weekend so i will have a couple of touches of black on the rear end.

my front end will have the INGS LX 06 front lip, painted like this..
https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...&postcount=854

so there will also be some black on my front end..i might as well just go ahead and do black. PPW seems to be a hard color to match, which is what that guy on milezhigh forum was taking a lot of heat for..

If i do black, ill definitely DIY, anyone know what paint to use for headlights to black them out?? id prefer glossy black

I have a PPW with 06 lights as well...the color scheme that I was thinking for is more of a gun metal or a dark silver color, and match it with the color of rims that I wanted to get. If you look at that picture that you posted with those rims, I think they're either Volk GTV or Axis Matrix, the lights painted in the same color would look pretty sweet, IMO. I did wanted them blacked out before, but I saw a PPW with blacked out tail lights the other day, and didn't like it at all. I think black is too strong of a contrast on the PPW, gun metal or dark silver would be a more subtle contrast.

i agree with the harsh contrast between black and white, which is why i wanted the headlight whited out...but looking more into it, i dont think its going to be a possibility. if i had gunmetal wheels i would most definitely go with gunmetal headlights.

ive got a set of gold gt-s' on my PPW, so i think i can play off the black a little easier.

so what paint to use on headlights for a glossy black color?

I just finished painting a set PPW on 03-05 headlights. Let me see if I could get pictures. I haven't painted a set PPW on the new 06-07 headlights.

I think white would look good. Kinda reminds me of the new C6 vettes. Their interior housings are color matched:

I think it looks great on the bi-xenons. The normal HIDs dont have the housing to compliment the look, imo.
