Hi Joe, I love your car man...it's a clean looking car.
Thanks any way, I don't really have time to take my car down there. I really appriciate it.
Anthony din't have the spacer to clear my big brakes, so I have to come back again.

I paid about $6,000 to have my PPW repainted. One shop wanted pretty much what you got quoted, another shop wanted about $5K.
What paint are they using?
+1 on the body kit. Nows the best time to install one if you don't have one already.

The second price which was $5,200, they will take all the fenders apart, then put it back on later. I don't need the inside of my car painted.
Caliber Colision is hightly recomended by my local Nissan dealer.

If its already PPW and your getting a respray that's still a high quote. They won't have to do jambs, engine baym etc. I'd say closer to $3k. I did a color change minus the engine bay on an Integra for $2k and it was practically flawless.

i had my hood, fenders, trunk, front bumper, sideskirts and spoiler sprayed + body work for $1500.
granted it wasn't as hard as PPW....it was silver alloy, but if they sprayed the door and quarter panels, it would have been around $3K + change.
i'd say around $4k - $4.5k max.

I love how everyone says that "it's too much", without knowing anything about the details of the quote. The differences are usually in the details.
Having just painted my own car - my cost for materials alone...nothing else, just materials (paint, primer, activator, cleaners, tape, paper, tape (we used ALOT of tape!), sand paper, etc, was nearly $1200 - at wholesale cost. Then of course, you've got the labor time. On my own car, without any body work to be done (I never hit anything, just had a couple of not noticeable door dings), even making the body perfect took about 6 hours worth of work.
If this is a well respected shop that you have seen the results of, and they are using top notch materials (Glasurit, Du Pont Chroma Premier, etc), and their work is guaranteed, then $7k is totally reasonable.
There are giant differences in body work, just as there are giant differences in home construction, engine building, etc.
Regardless of what you do, this is a MAJOR undertaking, and as such, you should get every quote in writing, so there are no misunderstandings and so you can compare apples to apples

You guys have no idea how involved a proper repaint is. A good shop will most likely pull glass, moldings, etc vs taping off. Proper prep, materials, paint, clear, buff, and on and on cost real $. Painting bumpers and skirts is not really comparable to a complete repaint and cannot be used as a reference point.
And for what it is worth, I would NEVER take my car to a bodyshop recommended by my dealer....NEVER
