This auction is crackin me up. This could be the "All your base" of ebay!
Another funny thing about his auctions is that he probably only has one "master" cd that he burns off of but changes the title of the auction to attract people for that particular car/model. It looks like the Cavalier folks are pretty desperate for the CD (currenly at $36) whereas there wasn't too much demand from a lot of the other car models.. I would be curious to know if the 2-4 door Honda conversion would take two weeks since there are four doors? Actually I almost want to buy this CD for the Civic vs Viper race.

Going back on topic, Thackattk, had you seen this video (actually a .gif) before? I would think you would be encouraged by it.

Is this shop in Largo or St. Petersberg? Cause I say another topic of someone in St. Pete looking for a Z to operate the Lambo doors on.

We're talking about the same shop. The shop is actually in Largo, which is right next to St Pete.

Thanks bro, I'm gonna see how yours looks & then go with my. I live very near down here in Bradenton.

Question, is the door handles still gonna be there for the looks? I ask because I love the door handles on this car, and even if I never used them again since I'll have a remote to open them with I think I would still look much better with the handles remaining then just plain brickyard or super black in my case.

Also, will the remote be able to close it automatically just like it is shown with that black Mustang gif picture?

Thanks again.

Hey DaveL,

Your doorhandles will be there unless you decide to have them shaved.
As far as the remote opening the doors, that is an option and will cost more.
If you decide on the remote, the one that I've seen just pops the door out, then you lift it up manually.
I'm sure you could get the remote doors to open out and up, then close automatically, but I think you're talking serious bucks for hydraulics.

How tall does your car sit when the doors are fully open with the windows up? I was just wondering if you could still park your car in your garage without the fear of hitting the ceiling with the glass.

Thanks thackattk, are you getting yours doors done without any remotes? So you would just have to open the door yourself & lift? Let me know, cause if that's all your doing I assume that is the price for $1900.

I'd be fine with just that, it looks very clean.

When yours are completed & he did a nice job let him know that a Super Black will be arriving in his shop soon.

Hey DaveL,
You're correct, I'm not getting the remotes done at this point. Maybe a future mod.
I talked to Ian today at carxs.com, he told me maybe this Saturday to install.
He also wants to enter my car in the Hot Import Nights which is coming to Orlando in June.
As far as the height of the doors opening, I'm not sure of the exact height, but it looks to raise about a couple of feet highger than the roof line. I'll measure when I get mine done.
BTW, you can get in and out of the car without lifting the doors up, as long as you don't weigh 300 lbs I wouldn't thing it would be a problem, just a tight squeeze.
I'll keep you guys posted!

There is a lengthy thread about his car on e46fanatics. He said it's in NJ and it costs more than 5 grand?! True?

I saw these doors on a La Mons Z at Daytona during bike week. The dude had a color matched roll cage that was INCORPORATED into the doors. Very very slick. The one day I didn't have my digital camera. He wouldn't tell me how much $$ he had wrapped up in the car. I'm sure I'll run into him again in central florida.

When I first heard of this on a 350Z, I thought

But if it looks half as good as the doors on the Mustang pictured here, that will be bad a$$!!!!

Price isn't too bad either. Just over $2000 installed. My question is how does the kit get around the auto rolldown when you open the door? Does it still auto roll when you move the door out the 8" before lifting?

Also, how long was the Z in the shop for the work? Is it an all day job? a few hours? more than a day?

May have to choose between this and a Nismo kit!
