Default Odometer reading

Hey guys,

well to give a long story short, i turned my Z into a track ready car. And along with a whole bunch of parts being installed and replaced... i also switched out my gauge cluster with a stack dash display. Just recently, i had an offer for my car and he had asked me how many miles were on it originally. So i went home and installed the stock gauge cluster thinking that the miles were being sent from the ECU and it turns it didn't.

Now before switching out the gauge cluster, i was told many times that the miles was not only stored in the gauge cluster but also within the factory ecu. Is this true or not? Can i recalibrate my gauge cluster?

the mileage is stored in the cluster not in the ecu

as for recalibrating the cluster, the dealer I am sure can so long as you know what the correct # is to tell them I know of no other way
