Need Wiring HELP!!!!
hey I have posted a few threads on this problem I'm having, and no one really seems to know how to solve this one!! I got a base model Z and bought power/heated/side airbag seats, and can't figure out how to even half hook them up. Any help / part numbers would be very helpful...
in the middle pic that is what is coming from the car. On the one end it was not plugged into anything, except it had a small wire that plugged into a plastic piece that looked like it did nothing.
On the new harness I got from a forum member it looked like (#4) plugs into the connector coming from the car. This harness also has that same small wire (#3) that was plugged into the plastic piece. Not sure what this connector is or where it goes??
Now I'm guessing 1 and 2 go to each seat, but I don't know what wire to purchase that goes from 1 and 2. I went to Nissan and they gave me a bunch of crap, and couldn't tell me what I needed.
Any help would be greatly apriciated

What year is your car? What year of car did the seats come out of?
Your best bet would be to find the service manual for your Z and the doner Z and match up the wiring. It is very possible that the harnesses are compeltely different and you'll have to hardwire.
I've seen Nissan change wire harnesses mid year, so changing from year to year is very, very possible.

Hi
I have also got hold of oem leather heated seats for my base model. I have just got round to fitting them today. I have the wiring diagram for the seats on pdf and also the harness lay out for the 350z. According to the diagram i have, the plugs that you have marked as number 1 and number 2 are for the ashtray and hazard switch on the 2002 to 2005 models. The main harness for the heated seats runs behind the seats from the drivers side well.
To be honest without all the harnesses already installed. It looks like a massive job. I have decided
to take a different route to get power to the seats and get the heated seats working.
I have done the same as the chap in the link below to get the power to the seats.

I also bought a heated seat kit for $70 that was very very easy to fit as it came with switches, harness and relay and only needed to be taped into a power supply. It was also very easy to remove part of the leather covers and fit the heated pads. I bought the kit in England but there are loads about in the states

By the time you have sourced all the right parts and paid out for them, it still might not work, as the
BCM might need to be reconfigured. It is easier to just tap into power for the seats and retro fit a heated seat kit. I am pretty sure you could also the attach the oem heat switches to the heated seat kit if you wanted to. I am very happy with my install as it works great and I have still saved a packet on paying out for the leather seat option at the stealership.

You are still missing another harness (Don't remember the parts # it goes from the main center harness to the relay for the heater. Nissan sells 2 relays for $25 and $35 dollars. The price is different because of the 2 different brands but they do the same thing. The position of the relay should be next to the AC outlet in the back under all the plastic. When you open your car up you'll notice that you are missing something to the left of the AC line.
When you look at the seat power plug you'll notice 4 pins. 2 are for the power of the chair and two are for the heater. You'll also going to need to reconfigure your BCM to take the relay commands from the switchs, which I havent seen anybody on this board do yet for the heaters. Basically since you have a base without a power harness, you're fix is simple:
1) Tap a constant power from the power window fuse or the AC plug to get your chair power working.
2) Call it a day and forget the heaters.
